Mt Victoria has always been a great place to ride and with developments over the last couple of years it has become a more popular destination for mountain biking. This is really positive but due to being a public space that is also shared with other groups, has created a few issues that need to be addressed. The hope is that once the Mt Victoria Management Plan is finalised, we can commence with Rod’s plans to fine tune some of the more advanced trails to the north and west of the hill.
The following alterations to existing trails have all been discussed with Council and agreed to in principle although there may still be a few minor adjustments to the plan for Damains. I may have a job offer in Kilbirnie. Can anyone tell me about the suburb? Or perhaps suburbs near by such as Hataitai and Mount Victoria? I’m not sure what you mean by a modern area. Kilbirnie and Hataitai were largely settled between the two world wars, so there are many old villa style houses. Of course there are also some newer modern houses and flats that have replaced some of the older houses.
Mt Victoria is one of the original city suburbs, so there are houses dating back to the late 19th century, but again some modern flats, if that is what you prefer. Another possibility is Lyall Bay , if you’d like to be close to the beach. All these suburbs have good shopping, transport and community facilities. Seatoun would be the most expensive but any of them would be fine. Wellington is quite a centralised city so it’s not too important exactly which suburb you live in. Personally I always chose to live in Mount Vic as it’s very accessible to the city eg I had a cafe 2 doors down from me. I’m not personally a huge fan of Kilbirnie, it’s more of a family area which is fine if that’s what you’re after.
The flat: – two toilets and a bathtub! The current flatmates are 2 males and one female, aged mid twenties, really lovely and chill people, everyone cleans up after themselves. LGBTQ friendly, sadly no pets allowed. One room available in an amazing inner city apartment located within the Republic apartments on Tennyson Street.

It is a job rich high-productivity economic powerhouse for the region. LGWM will unleash its potential and make it a magnet for investment after years of underinvestment. This work has been underway for a number of years now, basically ever since the horrible Basin Reserve flyover had its consent declined in and again in Back in late a draft programme was developed and it was pretty unimpressive , focusing enormously on building a whole pile of motorways before improving public transport.
Overall it seems like the Recommended Programme was unaffordable and therefore needed both a bit of trimming as well as being delivered over a longer time period. This approach translates into five key moves. The first four seem to make good sense, although the state highway improvements seems to continue with the problematic previous approach of suggesting a pile of motorways are needed before we can build public transport. More on that soon.
